Nike React Metcon Training Shoe – New Colorway Light Armory Blue/Thunderstorm/Black

Nike has released a new colorway of their Nike React Metcon shoe: Light Armory Blue/Thunderstorm/Black. Here it is: What’s the key feature of the Nike React Metcon? It’s right in the name – React foam cushioning. React foam is a Nike invention that gives you energy return with every footstep. Originally created for their running shoe line, it’s got great carryover to a cross trainer like the Nike React Metcon. That’s because the WOD (Workout of the Day) in CrossFit can require LOTS of different things. Like running, sprinting, jumping, skipping rope – and much more. And for those high impact activities, you need a foam cushion system that is more forgiving than what is in the Nike Metcon 5 and other shoes. That’s where the Nike React Metcon shines. So, how is this wonder of impact cushioning done? The drop-in midsoles are made completely of React foam. (The "midsole" is the part of the sole that sits between your foot and the outsole of the shoe.) So, React foam provides better cushion – but not at the expense of [Read more …]

Nike React Metcon – New Color Combo for Men 2020 – Light Blue

Nike’s React Metcon shoe is the first Metcon shoe to incorporate their proprietary React foam cushioning system. Why? For high-impact comfort AND stability. The Nike React Metcon takes a lot of inspiration from the Nike Metcon 5. You’ll notice the outsole and rope wrap are identical. And this means you get the stability and traction from the training original. Buy you also get Nike’s most comfortable cushioning – React foam. With this, you can tackle any high-impact (box jumps, sprints, jump rope, etc.) and lifting workouts with a light, breathable upper and durable grip to keep you going. Here’s the outsole. See the similarities? Where’s the React foam? It’s on the inside, in the midsole. You’ll notice from the top view that this shoe takes the same basic shape as the Metcon 5. The upper is made from FlyKnit – which is Nike’s knit yarn-like material. Just be aware that it is a double layer FlyKnit -so it is not quite as lightweight as the running shoes that use FlyKnit. Where are the laces? This shoe doesn’t use traditional laces. [Read more …]

New Nike Free X Metcon 2 Colorway for Men – University Red/Black/White/Team Red

Here’s a great new option for those that like to run with their WOD: the Nike Free X Metcon 2 in University Red/Black/White/Team Red. Nike just dropped this new color combo on us. And it looks GOOD. Not only that, the Nike Free X Metcon 2 is one of the best shoes in the Metcon line. Why? This shoe will take you from a short run to your gym workout – and back again. The mesh lightweight and stretchy upper offers great breathability and comfort. But it is a Metcon shoe – so it is durable and responsive as well – letting you reach all your fitness goals. Let’s take a closeup look at the mesh uppper. The fabric is extra durable in high-wear areas. There’s a midfoot cage (made from TPU) that will lock your foot in place without restricting movement. As you can see it is integrated with the laces. The super-tough outsole rubber wraps up the sides to help resist abrasion during rope climbs. (Nike tends to call that the “Rope Wrap”.) Best of all, it has [Read more …]

New Nike Free x Metcon 2 Colorway for Women – Valerian Blue/Photon Dust/Black/Vivid Purple

Let’s celebrate the launch of a new color combo of the Nike Free x Metcon 2 in Valerian Blue/Photon Dust/Black/Vivid Purple. This is a women’s variation of this great cross trainer. Why do we love the Free x Metcon 2? That’s what we’ll talk about here – while we show you the great looks of this new shoe. The Nike Free x Metcon 2 is good for boot camps and strength training. Why is that? It’s a crossover between the Metcon line and the Free running line from Nike. You get a great midsole and outsole for running. The “Free” line is meant to better replicate the bare foot running experience. And it does that by providing a lightweight, cushioned sole – but not with too much cushion – as your bare foot running isn’t like running on a pillow! Here’s the “outsole” – or more simply – the sole. See those hexagonal (6-sided) foam blocks? Those mean that the sole can flex along it’s width AND length. Just like your foot will do while running. Secondly the “siping” is [Read more …]

NikeCourt Melbourne Collection Tennis Clothes

Did you know Melbourne is one of the hottest tennis courts used for a Major? And soon, 700,000 people will flock to the opening slam in Australia to see the action. NikeCourt is Nike’s line of tennis clothes – made for performance and good looks. And later this month, NikeCourt will unveil their 2020 collection. And it’s gonna be hot – so NikeCourt designers developed a knee-length bodysuit for women as a baselayer. This garment was designed using Atlas body-mapping to identify the areas that tend to overheat. For women that is typically under the bra and at the neckline. But what Nike has done here is to piece this garment together to maximize breathability for those hotspots. Why use a base garment? It serves dual purposes. Players often want to combine a cooler outfit and still present a unique style on the court. (After all – who doesn’t want to look good under the watchful eye of thousands of tennis fans?) A base garment makes these performance clothes a modular system. Players can choose tanks, crop tops and skirts [Read more …]
