Reebok Nano 9 CrossFit Training Shoe – New Colorways for February

Reebok has launched two new colorways of their potent training shoe – the Reebok Nano 9. The new colorways are BLACK / FLUID BLUE / LEMON GLOW for women … and BLACK / WHITE / VIVID ORANGE for men. What’s special about the Reebok Nano 9? For starters, it’s the only shoe that can wear the CrossFit name. You can see it’s right on the heel. This is the 9th iteration of the Nano – and that means they have come pretty close to perfecting this design. It has a relatively low-profile 4mm heel to toe drop. That means your heel is about 4 mm higher than your toes. This means it is a very versatile shoe- and you can use it for running, jumping, lifting, climbing, and more. (In other words, it’s perfect for the CrossFit WOD.) The upper is made from Reebok’s FlexWeave material – it’s tough but breathable because it is woven into a figure 8 pattern (there’s a breathable mesh underneath.) CrossFit athletes need to be able to climb ropes – and the Reebok Nano 9 [Read more …]

Nike React Metcon Cross Trainer for Men – Seaweed/Green Spark/Vintage Green

Nike has released a new colorway of the Nike React Metcon Cross Trainer for Men : Seaweed/Green Spark/Vintage Green. Ok, it’s technically style: BQ6044-323. But, no matter what you call it, we think it looks pretty slick. What’s the big benefit of the Nike React Metcon shoe? It’s right in the name – REACT. As in React foam cushioning – you know – Nike’s groundbreaking energy return foam cushioning system. That’s right – every footstep gives you energy back with React foam. But you’ll notice this is a Cross Trainer shoe. Unlike the Nike React running shoes there’s a lot less React foam. That’s because React foam is springy and bouncing – but it is not very tough. And Cross Trainers for the CrossFit WOD, Functional Fitness, and HIIT training need to be built like a tank. So in this shoe the React foam is in the drop-in midsole – which you can’t see – because it is inside the shoe. The outsole (the part that touches the ground, basically) is made from tough rubber – for maximum traction and [Read more …]

New Nike MetconSF Colorway – Seaweed/Light British Tan/Green Spark/Black

Here’s a sharp looking new colorway of the Nike MetconSF – Seaweed/Light British Tan/Green Spark/Black What’s the Nike MetconSF? It’s the first all-terrain Nike Metcon shoe. This shoe repels mud for superior grip and it even has water draining ports to keep your weight down. Do they work? Yep – absolutely they do – we know because we tested them. But there is more to the shoe than just those crazy deep lugs on the boot-like outsole. The Nike MEtconSF is made from materials that won’t absorb water. That means when your feet inevitably do get waterlogged – on your mud run or obstacle course race – you’ll shed the extra water weight as quickly as possible. The upper, insole, and midsole are all made from non-absorbent materials. But, there’s more. See that high elastic leg opening? That’s called a gaiter – and it is there to keep debris out of your shoe – for when you step into the swampy mud. There’s no traditional laces either. That means no soggy, muddy laces. Instead, you get Nike’s innovative speed-lacing system. [Read more …]
