To test this product, we got hands-on and in-depth. (This is an different color way – but it’s the same basic shoe)
Here’s what we found:
Metcon 7 no longer has the Hyperlifts and perforated upper but is now using the React foam and has rock-solid stability. It is one ounce lighter than the earlier version and has deep pre-formed flex grooves in the forefoot.

Nike Metcon 7 Fitter Together Edition – Overview
The Nike Metcon 7 makes you ready for any challenge from the training room floor to the pavement. It is the gold standard for weight training and is more rigid and stable than earlier versions. New to Metcon 7 is the React foam that intensifies comfort to prepare you for high-intensity cardio.
Nike React foam creates a comfortable, cushioned base that feels lightweight and flexible when you kick it into high gear for cardio and sprints. The tab confines your laces, so nothing hinders you when you focus on your next PR. The wide, flat heel gets even more stable with an inner plate that spreads weight from edge to edge as it flexes to make cardio intervals more comfortable.
The rubber is updated and covers your arch for extreme grip during rope climbs, while the rubber tread gives you traction anywhere. The shoe has a handstand clip at the heel to minimize drag during wall exercises and grooves in the sole, so your foot can bend naturally.
