Reebok has released the Reebok Nano X PR shoe.
Like the other versions of Reebok’s 10th CrossFit training shoe it is packed with features you need for the CrossFit WOD.
But, the Nano X PR is made from light-weight materials.
Does it make a difference? That’s what we’ll uncover here – we’ll also tell you more about the Nano X and why these are great CrossFit WOD style shoes.
Here’s some of the other styles that are available now:
Let’s take a look.
Reebok Nano X PR Shoe Review – On Our YouTube Channel
Here’s an in-depth review of the Nano X PR, from our YouTube channel:
By the way, we have high expectations for this shoe. The Reebok Nano X was a runner-up in our Best CrossFit Shoes for 2021 review.
Disappointed that the PR isn’t really light-weight?
Check ou the Reebok Nano X Unknown – this is 1 ounce lighter than the regular edition Nano X and the Nano X PR.
Reebok Nano X PR Shoe Review – Is It Lightweight?
We did a weigh-in and compared the weight of the Nano X PR to all the other Nano shoes released in 2020.
Here’s the results:
(All shoes are a Men’s US Size 11)
- Nano X Froning Edition – 15.0 ounces per shoe
- Nano X Regular Edition – 14.2 – 14.4 ounces per shoe (we weighed 4 shoes in total) – let’s call it a 14.3 average.
- Nano X PR – 14.2 (left) and 14.6 (right).
So, when you add them up, a pair of Nano X PR weighs 28.8 ounces – or just about exactly the same as the regular Nano X.
While the Nano X PR is a nice looking shoe – there’s really no weight savings to be found in this shoe.
By the way, if you watched the video you’ll know that the Nano OG (a re-launched version of the original Nano) is 3 ounces lighter at 11.3 ounces per shoe.
But, the Nano OG doesn’t benefit from all the improvements Reebok has made over the last 10 years – find out more in our Nano OG review.
Reebok Nano X PR Shoe Review – What’s New and Improved?
OK, so unfortunately there really isn’t any weight savings in the Nano X PR. But it does look very nice – and has all the great performance features of the regular Nano X.
Let’s take an up close look.
The biggest difference between the regular Nano X and the Nano X PR is that the upper is made with different materials.
The Nano X PR also includes premium laces – they are round as opposed to the regular flat laces on the Nano X.
Overall, the Nano X PR is a good looking shoe.
Reebok Nano X PR Versus Reebok Nano X
How does the Reebok Nano X PR compare to the regular edition?
We did a deep-dive review of the Nano X.
Reebok Nano X PR Versus Reebok Nano X Froning
The Froning Edition of the Nano X brings a nice look, and premium materials.
But, to be honest the improvements are cosmetic.
The midfoot strap is anchored with stretchy elastic – so it doesn’t offer a tangible improvement in security.
Rich Froning is notorious for competing with his shoes untied, so the strap would keep loose laces under control…
Because of the extra material, it is slightly heavier than the regular edition of the shoe as well.
But, it does look nice.

Reebok Nano X PR Shoe Review – In Summary
The Reebok Nano X PR shoe claims to be lighter than the regular Nano X.
In actuality it’s not – it’s basically the same weight.
But, it looks sharp – and the Nano X is an excellent CrossFit or functional fitness WOD training shoe.
We recommend this shoe – but you can save $10 if you choose to go with the regular edition.
