Nike Metcon 7 AMP – Overview
There are some significant changes in the features of the Nike Metcon 7 AMP. First is the rope wrap on the medial side that has been elongated to wrap up and give more reliable grip and durability. A velcro lock laces were also added to the tongue to hold the laces in place. Another significant change is the midsole. The sole unit now has React foam offering better cushioning than earlier versions for high-intensity cardio and to make running workouts more comfortable.
A sleeker aesthetic replaced the divided upper and angular rope wrap, resulting in notable technical and performance enhancements. The plastic heel plate intends to spread weight smoothly from edge to edge and offer stability for a solid feeling when lifting. The Hyperlift heel to the sole unit is another new addition that provides the features and advantages of a weightlifting shoe while still light and flexible in the rest of the foot to support running.
The outsole tread is built from solid, adhesive rubber that provides an excellent grip on all surfaces, be it indoor or outdoor. The handstand push-up clip around the back of the heel works well, and your feet can slide up and down a wall smoothly. Lightweight mesh with textured overlays in high-wear areas helps keep your foot cool without losing durability. The Flywire lacing down the lateral side of the lacing serves to have the midfoot fastened and secure.
