The Athena Plate-Loaded Side-Mount Functional Trainer is a low-key cable attachment that integrates into the side of your PR-4000 or PR-5000 series power rack. Additionally, it delivers a lower price point (and smaller footprint) than the Ares Attachment, which includes a lat pulldown and low row. Build your upper body and get in accessory and isolation work without needing space for a stand-alone unit with Athena Side-Mount.
The patent-pending Athena highlights a trolley that enables you to do cable work at any height on the upright and is lined with a unique plastic to cover them. The Athena highlights a 2:1 pulley ratio, which means 20lbs feels like 10lbs.
Athena Selectorized Side-Mount Functional Trainer
Each stack of the Athena Selectorized Side-Mount Functional Trainer weighs 170lbs per side (feels like 85lbs), with the selection to heighten each stack to 220lbs (feels like 110lbs). It highlights hot-rolled steel plates with a 3% tolerance and a magnetic pin for fast and effortless weight changes.
You can add bands to the merged band pegs on the base and head plate for added resistance up to a max of 540lbs. The Athena allows you to customize your rack’s functionality by picking either a left, right, or dual-sided setup. It weighs 258 lbs, has a weight stacks of 170 lbs, and a cable weight capacity of 550lbs.
Athena Plate-Loaded Side-Mount Functional Trainer
The Athena Plate-Loaded Side-Mount Functional Trainer weighs 87 lbs with a maximum capacity of 540 lbs that feels like 270 lbs. The Athena’s cables are made from high-quality, galvanized wire with a raw steel core, while the pulleys are made from robust aluminum.
The front pulleys have a 180-degree swivel for versatility when working outside the rack. The attachment comes with a urethane D Handle attachment and is compatible with various cable attachments. You can upgrade it to selectorized by a conversion kit (coming soon) that will supply the required elements to turn your 4000 or 5000 series Side-Mount Functional Trainer attachment into the selectorized attachment.
