Reebok Nano X2 Review

Let’s review the brand-new Reebok Nano X2. The Reebok Nano is the first athletic shoe developed for CrossFit in 2011 and has ever since become one of the best CrossFit shoes you’ll have. The Nano X2 is the latest in the series and is called the “Official Shoe of You”. This wasn’t a radical jump in design – unlike the switch from Nano X to Nano X1. They’ve beefed up the external “cage” that gives the shoe rigidity. The TPU (a kind of stiff plastic) is [Read more …]

Rucker 4 Available Now

Let’s review the newly launched Rucker 4.0 from GORUCK. I ordered one as soon as it dropped, and it’s here. Let’s take a tour of the features. The latest version of GORUCK’s Rucker is the ultimate fitness training backpack. It now comes in Tropic Multicam or Black for dope style and practicality. Get it now – only from GORUCK: Let’s take a closer look. GORUCK Rucker 4 – REVIEW I took this bag out to stomp around in the woods. First, understand they’ve carried over all the cool new stuff from the Rucker 3. Like what? Tons of handles, drain grommets, low-abrasion shoulder straps, low-abrasion hip belt, and two interior pockets for plates. They’ve made it better – primarily by removing all the interior zippers. So – you use Velcro (aka hook and loop) instead. It works just fine. But, it’s NOISIER and it takes longer to open and close. I think that’s OK – this is a tool for fitness – not stealth. They’ve also added more foam padding in the interior to better protect your head from sliding [Read more …]

Bonehead Ruck Weight Plate Review

Let’s review the Bonehead Ruck Weight Plates from Fringe Sport. What’s a Ruck Weight Plate? It’s a heavy weight that you put in your rucksack (aka backpack) to add resistance and therefore burn more calories when you walk, hike, or “ruck” (as it’s known in the military). Can’t you just use a barbell plate or a dumbbell? Ruck weight plates are a better option because they are a shape and size that will actually fit into your backpack. And leave you enough room to pack other important stuff. DISCLAIMER: Fringe Sport provided the equipment in this article for review. Here’s the complete set of Ruck Weight Plates that Fringe Sport has to offer: Bonehead Ruck Weight Plates – Overview The Bonehead Ruck Weight Plates are made from solid cast iron, and receive a black powdercoat finish. That’s good because if you are participating in a GORUCK [Read more …]

CrossFit Shoes

Nike Metcon 7 Versus Nike Metcon 6

Let’s compare the Nike Metcon 7 to the Nike Metcon 6. Now that the Nike Metcon 7 Mat Fraser has dropped we finally have something to compare against the Nike Metcon 6. At long last we have the Nike Metcon 7. It looks good (just remember this is the Mat Fraser Personal Edition – so it always looks a bit “dramatic”). Has Nike revolutionized the CrossFit shoe that millions know and love? We’ll compare this shoe to its very popular predecessor. This is Nike Metcon 7 vs Nike Metcon 6. And here’s where you can get these shoes: Let’s get right into the comparison. Nike Metcon 7 – Overview Let’s start from the bottom up. The outsole on both shoes is all rubber, has flex grooves, and a very firm heel. There’s deep pre-formed flex grooves in the forefoot of both shoes. The M6 had a diamond-shaped heel, and with the M7 the heel is noticeably wider. This is good – because the main mission of the Nike Metcon shoes is heavy weight lifting. A wide heel makes for a [Read more …]
