Let’s take a look at the Nike Metcon 8 Premium. This is the Women’s version, and available from Rogue Fitness.
Metcon 8 is in many ways similar to Metcon 7—they both use Nike React foam, they have a wide, flat heel, a rubber outsole, flexible forefoot, and a heel clip. But there are also some noticeable improvements. It is perfect for lifters, athletes who do cross-training, have wider feet, and want to customize their shoes.

Nike Metcon 8 Premium – Women’s – Overview
Metcon 8 is the go-to model for training and relies on a lighter, more breathable upper than the earlier iteration. What differs it from the earlier version? Metcon 7 has a chainlike mesh, while Metcon 8 has textured synthetic overlays to keep your feet cool while ensuring durability. While Metcon 7 has a Velcro tab on the top and bottom of the tongue, Metcon 8 has it only on the top.
Metcon 7 has a mid-foot rope guard that adds extra grip during climbs, while Metcon 8 has a rubber wrap around the arch for better grip during rope climbs. The rubber tread gives you traction and helps you stay on your feet when transitioning from the training room floor to the pavement. Metcon 8 uses Nike React foam which is soft, making it comfortable for cardio sprints and walking, with the right amount of cushioning for heavy lifts.
The wide, flat heel gets even more stable with an inner plate that disperses weight from edge to edge. It also bends to make it comfortable for cardio and sprints. This premium version has metallic copper on the heel strap logo, Swoosh, and lace aglet, while the rubber outsole displays a glitter finish. The sockliner is also metallic, and the webbing loop is designed with metallic gold.
