GORUCK Black Multicam Rucker 3 Review (63)
Here’s the GORUCK Rucker 3.0 – in Black Multicam. This is the best looking color option they offer.

Here are some of the styles we are going to look at:

Rucker 3.0 (Multicam) Rucker 3.0 in MultiCam. This is a versatile camo pattern made for the modern era. But, if you are interested in one you probably like it because it looks cool - and that's OK.
Rucker 3.0 (Black Multicam) The only thing cooler than Multicam is MultiCam Black. This dark and foreboding pattern looks good and is a little less obvious. This is the color I ordered.
Rucker 3.0 (Black) Is all that style too much for you? Fly under the radar with good old black.
Ruck Plates (Black) What do you put in a Rucker? (Seriously?) Ruck Plates. These from GORUCK are made in the USA.
GORUCK MACV-1 Boot (Black 8 inch) The GORUCK MACV-1 is an artistically and skillfully designed, lightweight combat boot that is more robust with its new full-grain Challenge Leather on the upper. The dual-compound rubber outsole gives an all-around performance in any conditions, including increased friction on slippery and muddy ground. The forefoot rubber is formed for improved hold while the heel area is formed for abrasion resistance and improved durability. MACV-1 is tested by Special Forces in cities, mountains, forests, and wastelands to make sure it will not fail you.

GORUCK Rucker 3 Multicam – Our Review

To test this product, we got hands-on and in-depth.

Here’s what we found:

GORUCK created Rucker 3.0 to provide several updates and improvements from Rucker 2.0’s flaws. If you decide to go shirtless during your rucking, Rucker 3.0 will not hurt your skin and shoulders.

Before we talk about Multicam, let’s focus on what’s new with the Rucker 3.

Multicam Rucker 3.0 – Overview

What are the improvements of the Rucker 3.0 from the earlier version?

One of the most noticeable improvements is the shoulder straps’ bases which now use a new, smoother, and sleeker material called 210D HT (High Tenacity) CORDURA. The straps have the same amount of foam within and look the same from the top. Even the back panel uses non-abrasive material.

The frame sheet of Rucker 2 is soft and flexible and tends to fold over when you have a plate up, and there is no support. GORUCK managed to fix that issue with the Rucker 3. The frame sheet now runs the whole width of the pack’s bottom, and it works properly under any circumstances.

GORUCK added a 10 mm EVA foam lumbar support on the back using the same 210D material. The Rucker 3.0 has the new version of GORUCK’s Sternum strap, which is bigger and better. The chest strap gives you control over where the straps lay on your shoulders and trap. The sternum strap is highly recommended, especially if you are going any distance with weight. The strap is broader, and it cuts less into your chest when tightened, although it is somewhat smaller than the prior strap. Another improvement is the buckle that is now bigger and sturdier.

Some features remained untouched from the Rucker 2, including the elevated plate pocket and an elastic pocket. The D-ring for the hydration bladder is still there as well as the Velcro panel to route the hydration tube. Even the zippered pockets are the same as the previous version.

Other features of Rucker 3.0 include a 2″x3″ hook and loop on the front panel to customize with the patch of your choice. Four padded handles (top, bottom, and both sides), YKK zippers with silent, glove-friendly zipper pulls constructed from parachute 550 cord, rain/water resistant, and bottom grommet drain holes.

Rucker 4.0

Rucker 4.0 is the tool for getting more powerful if you train hard on ground, grass, and concrete. It utilizes YKK zippers with silent, glove-friendly zipper pulls created from parachute 550 cord. The Frame Sheet allows you to carry a heavier load more enjoyable and supports the pack’s integrity as you weigh it down.

Rucker Long Range

The Rucker Long Range is made for GORUCK Selection and other endurance events. This is a comfortable rucksack that will make a heavier load more bearable even as you move out for miles and miles on end. It has padded straps and the fabric placed on the back panel and bottom of the shoulder straps not to cause friction burn. You can even wear it shirtless, and it plays excellently with soft fabrics like Merino.

The Rucker Long Range has two large compartments and multiple pockets, so you have plenty of room for supplies and keep things tidy. It is available in 33L and 39L with a Training Sternum Strap and hydration tube exit port under the top handle of the ruck.

Rucker 3.0 uses 1000D CORDURA® as its primary material and 210D HT (High Tenacity) CORDURA® as the back panel and shoulder strap underside material. This makes it very comfortable for rucking and other workouts. Available in 20L and 25L, Rucker 3.0 can be worn shirtless with no friction burn.
