Nike Metcon 7 – What I’d Like To See

What would you like to see Nike improve or change in the Nike Metcon 7? I’ve got some ideas – and that’s what we’re going to discuss in this article. First of all, let me say that we are probably 10-11 months from the next version of the Nike Metcon shoe, as I write this. I don’t have any knowledge of the Nike Metcon 7 Release Date – or even that there will be a Nike Metcon 7. But, I’m guessing there will be, as there has been an annual product launch every year since 2015 or so. The Nike Metcon shoe gets better and better every release – and in fact, I’ve declared the Nike Metcon 6 to be the best CrossFit shoe for 2020. While we wait for the next round of improvements, check out some of the latest styles: What the Nike Metcon 7 Ought To Be Here, in no particular order are my ideas. Some of these are new ideas, but many are just iterations or evolutions of what I’ve seen on these shoes – or [Read more …]

Nike Romaleos 4 AMP Weightlifting Shoe

Nike has launched the first ever AMP version of the Nike Romaleos 4 Olympic weightlifting shoe. What’s an AMP shoe? It’s a bold styling option – these are very unique colorways that are usually made in somewhat limited numbers. Beyond the bold design statement, the shoe looks and acts like a regular Nike Romaleos 4. Here’s some of the styles we are going to look at: Nike Romaleos 4 – Video Review on our YouTube Channel Why read when you can watch? Check out this video from our YouTube channel: (NOTE: The Romaleos 4 AMP is identical to the regular Romaleos 4 shoe from a performance and features standpoint.) NOBULL Trainer Review - SuperFabric and Canvas
CrossFit Shoes

NOBULL Trainer Review

Let’s review the NOBULL Trainer shoe – it’s a cross training shoe that is great for the CrossFit WOD. The NOBULL Trainer is available in a low, mid, and high top version. All of these models are very similar, so we are going to concentrate on the low here – because it’ll be the most popular. It’s also the lightest of the trio. Here’s some of the styles (and alternatives) we are going to look at: NOBULL Trainer Review – Video Review on our YouTube Channel Why read when you can watch? Check out this video from our YouTube channel: (This covers the NOBULL High Top Trainer – with a Low Top video coming soon!) NOBULL Trainer Review – Overview Let’s dive right in – by talking about the SuperFabric upper. SuperFabric is super-tough and abrasion resistant. There’s a mesh base layer, but on top there are all these little “guard plates” – these are very durable. You can see how densely the guard plates are distributed on this closeup of the upper. This is the toughest upper on any [Read more …]

GORUCK Spearhead Web Belt Review

Let’s take an in-depth look at the GORUCK Spearhead Web Belt. Why are we reviewing this belt? It’s a nice belt, but expensive. So you probably want to take a careful look at it before you buy. Here’s some of the styles we are going to look at: GORUCK Spearhead Web Belt – Overview The GORUCK Spearhead Web Belt is a Grip6 belt. It provides a minimalist look with extreme durability. Ever had a belt break? Yep – it happens. And the more complicated the belt, the more likely it’s going to fail when you need it. It’s a web belt, so it is low profile. Itlies down flat and won’t protrude out from the pants or dig into your skin. This uses the Grip6 patented no-slip locking mechanism to keep the belt in place all day long. (NOTE: The belt does tend to slide around a bit, at least in our testing – meaning you’ll notice after a while the buckle is off to the left or right, but this is purely aesthetic. The belt stays as tight (or [Read more …]

NOBULL High Top Trainer Review

Here’s our review of the NOBULL High Top Trainer shoe, from NOBULL. This is the new Wild Storm colorway – looks good – doesn’t it? But is this a good CrossFit or functional fitness style training shoe? That’s what we’ll talk about here in this review. NOBULL High Top Trainer – Video Review on our YouTube Channel Why read when you can watch? Check out this video from our YouTube channel: NOBULL High Top Trainer – Sizing These are true to size, but run slightly long and wide. This is an excellent shoe if a normal 11 is a tight fit on you – this will probably work perfect. It has more width up in the toe area as compared to some of the other shoes on the market. I do feel like it is ALMOST slightly too long – there’s a lot of room up in the toe area lengthwise. But, overall I’m pleased with these in my normal size of US Men’s 11. NOBULL High Top Trainer – Overview Let’s review the NOBULL High Top Trainer. First of [Read more …]
