Nike has released a new colorway of the Nike React Metcon Cross Trainer for Men : Seaweed/Green Spark/Vintage Green. Ok, it’s technically style: BQ6044-323. But, no matter what you call it, we think it looks pretty slick. What’s the big benefit of the Nike React Metcon shoe? It’s right in the name – REACT. As in React foam cushioning – you know – Nike’s groundbreaking energy return foam cushioning system. That’s right – every footstep gives you energy back with React foam. But you’ll notice this is a Cross Trainer shoe. Unlike the Nike React running shoes there’s a lot less React foam. That’s because React foam is springy and bouncing – but it is not very tough. And Cross Trainers for the CrossFit WOD, Functional Fitness, and HIIT training need to be built like a tank. Nike’s React Metcon shoe is the first Metcon shoe to incorporate their proprietary React foam cushioning system. Why? For high-impact comfort AND stability. The Nike React Metcon takes a lot of inspiration from the Nike Metcon 5. You’ll notice the outsole and rope wrap are identical. And this means you get the stability and traction from the training original. Buy you also get Nike’s most comfortable cushioning – React foam. With this, you can tackle any high-impact (box jumps, sprints, jump rope, etc.) and lifting workouts with a light, breathable upper and durable grip to keep you going. Here’s the outsole. See the similarities? Where’s the React foam? It’s on the inside, in the midsole. You’ll notice from the top view that this shoe takes the same basic shape as the Metcon 5. The upper is made from FlyKnit – which is Nike’s knit yarn-like material. Just be aware that it is a double layer FlyKnit -so it is not quite as lightweight as the running shoes that use FlyKnit. Not only that, the Nike Free X Metcon 2 is one of the best shoes in the Metcon line. Why? This shoe will take you from a short run to your gym workout – and back again. The mesh lightweight and stretchy upper offers great breathability and comfort. But it is a Metcon shoe – so it is durable and responsive as well – letting you reach all your fitness goals. Let’s take a closeup look at the mesh uppper. The fabric is extra durable in high-wear areas. There’s a midfoot cage (made from TPU) that will lock your foot in place without restricting movement. Let’s celebrate the launch of a new color combo of the Nike Free x Metcon 2 in Valerian Blue/Photon Dust/Black/Vivid Purple. This is a women’s variation of this great cross trainer. Why do we love the Free x Metcon 2? That’s what we’ll talk about here – while we show you the great looks of this new shoe. The Nike Free x Metcon 2 is good for boot camps and strength training. Why is that? It’s a crossover between the Metcon line and the Free running line from Nike. You get a great midsole and outsole for running. The “Free” line is meant to better replicate the bare foot running experience. Nike recently release the Nike React Metcon – this shoe takes all the great WOD features of the Metcon 5 and combines them with a FlyKnit upper, quick close lacing system, and Nike’s React foam in the midsole. And now they have launched an AMP colorway. What’s the AMP line? Well, it’s a little more expensive, but you get some wild, out-there designs and patterns. And these will even glow in the dark. Let’s have a look. The Nike React Metcon AMP has all the same stability and traction from the Metcon 5. But the real improvement here is the React foam – this is Nike’s most comfortable cushioning. It is soft and springy and provides reactive energy return With FlyKnit providing a breathable upper, this is a winning combination for CrossFit enthusiasts or anyone else into functional fitness training. The Nike React Metcon was just released in November 2019, but Nike is already making some new colorways available. Here’s the Nike React Metcon in white. What’s React? It is Nike’s reactive foam cushioning system. For the React Metcon, it’s a drop-in midsole that works in conjunction with the regular outsole – which is the same as that of the Metcon 5. The React Metcon also uses FlyKnit – that is a yarn-like knit material that allows Nike to make a seamless, one piece upper. It’s not as lightweight as the FlyKnit in the React running shoe line from Nike, as it is double layer instead of single. But, it’s still pretty good. The Nike React Metcon doesn’t have laces – instead it uses Nike’s quick pull system.
