With an open trap bar, you can perform some movements better than with a closed bar and even execute new movements that are not achievable using a closed bar. It is exceptionally well-balanced and comes with a built-in deadlift jack—one of the best features of an open trap bar.

Open Trap Bar – Overview

The Open Trap Bar has a level and open design allowing you to step in and out of the bar and won’t restrict the range of motion of your lower body. This makes the bar functional for numerous movements, such as pressing, lunging, and carrying. The handles are removable with a simple thumbscrew, so the Open Trap Bar can be utilized as a cambered bar for presses and squats.

Its built-in deadlift jack makes it easier to load and unload plates by twisting the bar up on its feet. The jack acts as a counterweight to keep the bar beautifully balanced and also features plastic liners on the feet to protect your floors. The frame comprises round tubing that makes the bar easy to use for pressing and squatting. The 6” knurling provides a strong grip to help balance the bar on your back while squatting.

The distance between the sleeve collars allows easy racking and unracking, and even on broad 49” racks, the bar will sit flush and protected. The hard chrome sleeves are a superior coating that is stable when sliding plates on and off. The bar also features the signature textured matte black powder coat that is attractive and also provides additional grip for presses.
