Nike Metcon 7 for Women (Fitter Together) – Overview
Good news to CrossFit beasts, weightlifters, gym buffs, and athletes. The shoe built to keep up with you has now arrived with the new Metcon 7. This shoe is the gold standard for the gym, boot camp, and weight training and is updated to become your new favorite cross-training shoe. You now get the lightweight, springy Nike React foam that allows you to punch it into high gear during cardio drills and runs.
The responsive Nike React foam has the right amount of cushion for an efficient run and heavy lifting. Because of the underfoot pressure mapping, Metcon 7 is 9% more stable than prior models. Its heel stabilizing plate disperses weight from side to side and flexes to make cardio intervals more comfortable. It also has an updated rubber covering the sides for grip during rope climbs and excellent traction from floors to pavement.
The shoe has tabs that smartly and snugly lock down your laces to limit distractions and built-in grooves on the outsole to maximize flexibility. This shoe is perfect for athletes who like to transition smoothly from cross-training, HIIT workouts, and Bootcamp to weightlifting and running, sometimes during the same workout.
Nike Metcon 7 Versus Nike Metcon 6 – Our Review
To test this product, we got hands-on and in-depth. (This is an different color way – but it’s the same basic shoe)
Here’s what we found:
Metcon 7 no longer has the Hyperlifts and perforated upper but is now using the React foam and has rock-solid stability. It is one ounce lighter than the earlier version and has deep pre-formed flex grooves in the forefoot. Metcon 7 has a wider heel for more reliable stability and will benefit those in weightlifting. The shoe has a big rope wrap around the side at the midfoot while the exterior is very firm, and the inside is React foam enhanced with an inner plate. The FlyWire is wrapped around the base of the laces on one side of the shoe and delivers for a more secure fit. In Metcon 7, the collar height is brought up a little bit, giving the heel a better fit.
