Here’s a great new option for those that like to run with their WOD: the Nike Free X Metcon 2 in University Red/Black/White/Team Red. Nike just dropped this new color combo on us. And it looks GOOD. Not only that, the Nike Free X Metcon 2 is one of the best shoes in the Metcon line. Why? This shoe will take you from a short run to your gym workout – and back again. The mesh lightweight and stretchy upper offers great breathability and comfort. But it is a Metcon shoe – so it is durable and responsive as well – letting you reach all your fitness goals. Let’s take a closeup look at the mesh uppper. The fabric is extra durable in high-wear areas. There’s a midfoot cage (made from TPU) that will lock your foot in place without restricting movement. As you can see it is integrated with the laces. The super-tough outsole rubber wraps up the sides to help resist abrasion during rope climbs. (Nike tends to call that the “Rope Wrap”.) Best of all, it has [Read more …]
The Reebok Nano 9 is the OFFICIAL CrossFit Training Shoe for the year 2019 and 2020. It’s the only shoe that has the CrossFit stamp of approval on it. And that’s not just because there is a contract between Reebok and CrossFit – this is a very good shoe for cross training, functional fitness, and the CrossFit WOD. We’ll tell you a bit about it, while we showcase some of the newest styles.
Are the current Nike Metcon 5 styles (Nike calls them “colorways”) too tame for you? Then feast your eyes on the Nike Metcon 5 AMP in Black / Fire Pink / Green / Strike Blue Fury. The Nike Metcon 5 AMP is a colorful addition to the Nike Metcon 5 line of shoes. These shoes are popular for expanding the boundaries of the modern cross-training shoe performance. Thanks to the ultra stable heel and outsole they offer increased stability for weightlifters , but still have greater flexibility in the forefoot for runners. CrossFit shoes also need to be tough. The Nike Metcon 5 uses durable, haptic 3D print on the mesh upper that will offer superior durability- especially in the high-wear areas. This is because the print is applied more densely in the areas that get the most wear – like on the edges of the toebox, for example. And hey – guess what? The Nike Metcon 5 actually has a padded tongue now (The Nike Metcon 4 and Nike Metcon 4 XD had the most minimal tongue padding of [Read more …]
Nike has released new colorways of the Nike React Metcon for January 2020. Let’s take a close look. There are unique styles for both Men and Women. Pricing is unchanged at about $150 US.
Here’s new styles of Nike’s excellent CrossFit shoe -the Nike Metcon 5.
The Nike React Metcon was just released in November 2019, but Nike is already making some new colorways available. Here’s the Nike React Metcon in white. What’s React? It is Nike’s reactive foam cushioning system. For the React Metcon, it’s a drop-in midsole that works in conjunction with the regular outsole – which is the same as that of the Metcon 5. The React Metcon also uses FlyKnit – that is a yarn-like knit material that allows Nike to make a seamless, one piece upper. It’s not as lightweight as the FlyKnit in the React running shoe line from Nike, as it is double layer instead of single. But, it’s still pretty good. The Nike React Metcon doesn’t have laces – instead it uses Nike’s quick pull system.
Last week, Nike launched some new colorways (color combinations) for their Nike Metcon Sport shoe. The Nike Metcon Sport is part of the “Metcon” line of shoes – that’s code for “CrossFit”. These shoes are cross trainers – and they let you lift, run, jump, and more. What’s the new styles? Here we have String/Dark Smoke Grey/Pale Ivory. Nike says “STABILITY TO LIFT HEAVY AND CUT HARD.” The other great thing about these shoes is that they are only $100 or so. That’s much cheaper than the other shoes in the line. Another great colorway that has just debuted is Black/Thunderstorm/White/Total Orange. Photo Credits Some photos are property of Nike, Inc.
