Overall this is a good training shoe.

Project Rock 3 Training Shoes – Overview

One of Project Rock’s collections approved by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson himself is the Men’s UA Project Rock 3 Training Shoes. Its UA HOVR technology provides a “zero-gravity feel” to conserve energy return to eliminate the impact. UA Tribase intensifies ground contact (making jumps higher and bouncier), boosts natural motion, and gives versatility during lifting.

This is a serious gym training shoe – great for bodybuilding or powerlifting. It does use UA’s HOVR foam – but not much of it. It is NOT a running shoe!

It has a notably relaxed and tough upper that grants stability and control where you need it. It also has a refurbished, knit bootie structure for a tight but comfortable fit. The Under Armour Project Rock 3’s sock-like upper is defined as very comfortable while the foot feels secure while doing rapid movements.

With a high collar and a flexibly, stretchy knit upper, this shoe fits well and feels good.

These shoes do run a bit narrow though – you may want to go 1/2 size up to get adequate room in the toebox.

These run narrow – you should consider going 1/2 size up to get enough width in the toe area.

The newest version of the Project Rock training shoe has arrived – this is the Project Rock 3 – and it makes a great shoe for the gym.

The external heel counter and stability chassis perform the ultimate solid support while its full rubber outsole provides raised traction and sturdiness. The fit does lock-in and prevents your foot from slipping on lateral movements. The upper is made of a light and stretchy fabric, with a midfoot cage that improves the foothold when doing multi-directional transitions.

This shoe features UA’s TriBase technology – it ensure a solid platform underfoot for the heaviest lifts.

These shoes can’t simply be about good looks though – they have to work in the gym too.

Project Rock 3 Training Shoes – Workout

Can you workout hard in these? Of course.

Project Rock 3 shoes have 8mm heel to toe drop. They work nice on the Concept 2 Rower – the extra bit of drop helps you keep your feet flat on the foot pedals.

They work great on a Rogue Echo Bike too.

The flat outsole gives great grip on the gym floor – but also on the pedals of the Rogue Echo Bike.

And, of course, you can lift weights with these too.

I would not recommend these for running, or impact activities though.

They don’t have a lot of cushion – but that’s what makes them so great for lifting heavy barbells and dumbbells.
