Let’s take a look at GR1 and GR2.
When athletes travel, they want to carry something durable and versatile because they know challenges on the road are inescapable. That’s the point of GORUCK rucksacks. Here are some of the styles we are going to look at:
GR1
GR1’s durability has been proven at thousands of GORUCK Events as the greatest rucksack ever made. GORUCK has given GR1 its first significant update to make it more durable and versatile. The back panel and shoulder straps are now reinforced with all-new 210D HT (High Tenacity). The shoulder straps and top handle are extra padded, so you can carry heavier loads more efficiently. No matter how you plan to use it, GR1 will not irritate your skin or chew up your apparel as the material is zero abrasion.
More features of GR1 are accessible, proving how tough it is. The bombproof laptop compartment next to your back is extra-reinforced and has a false bottom. It also has a removable, rigid plastic frame sheet that stabilizes the laptop compartment and allows you to carry more weight comfortably. GR1 opens flat, making it easier to pack and organize. It uses YKK zippers with silent, glove-friendly zipper pulls constructed from parachute 550 cord.
Multiple pockets are available inside and outside the ruck, so you can keep your things organized and handy. Inside, there are one large elastic pocket, one large mesh zippered pocket, and one small go-to pocket. One slant pocket for quick access to keys, snacks, and other small items will be found outside. GR1 has three rows of external and internal MOLLE webbing, which is used for customization. It is water-resistant and TSA Compliant.
GR2
GR2 is a perfect travel companion if you want to bring only one rucksack. Like the Special Forces medical packs, GR2 opens completely flat, providing plenty of pockets and organization to keep your things tidy. GR2 was also updated and is now using the all-new 210D HT (High Tenacity) CORDURA® on the back panel and underside of the shoulder straps that don’t rub the skin or destroy apparel.
The bottom panel of GR2 is made of 1050D Ballistic Nylon that is water and abrasion resistant and very durable. Regarding size, GR2 has more variety than GR1, making it larger than the latter. GR2 has 26L, 34L, and 40L sizes, two compartments for more storage, and many pockets for easy organization. The outer compartment has two large mesh zippered pockets, one small go-to zippered pocket, and one built-in field pocket.
The inner compartment has one large elastic pocket, one large mesh zippered pocket, and one small go-to zippered pocket. It also has more MOLLE than GR1, having four rows of external and internal MOLLE webbing. A removable, rigid plastic frame sheet balances the laptop compartment and allows you to carry more weight comfortably.
