Here’s the new Nike React Infinity Run Flyknit running shoe in the True White/White/Pure Platinum/Photo Blue colorway. What’s the big draw about this shoe? Nike claims it can reduce the occurrence of injuries: “In testing, the Nike React Infinity Run reduced injuries by 52% compared to the Nike Air Zoom Structure 22. The Nike React Infinity Run reduced running injuries by 52% compared to the Nike Air Zoom Structure 22 in a study of 226 men and women during a 12 week run training program (injury = missing 3 or more consecutive runs due to running related pain). Our study found that 30.3% of Nike Air Zoom Structure 22 runners experienced an injury but only 14.5% of Nike React Infinity Run runners experienced an injury.” Where can you get it? Let’s take a quick look at an excellent trail running shoe – the Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 36 Trail. It’s available in a fresh new colorway: Aura/Light Armory Blue/Mint Foam/Blackened Blue. Here’s our review of GORUCK Simple Pants. What are Simple Pants? They look like jeans – but they are actually a very different sort of apparel. GORUCK, the rucking company, makes a lightweight jungle boot they call the MACV-1. And they’ve now launched the 2nd generation of this lightweight, comfortable boot. The newest MACV-1 boot has an improved rubber outsole for better all-terrain performance, and an upper made out of improved leather. Let’s look at Challenge Pants from GORUCK. What are Challenge Pants? These are a super-tough cargo-style pants made by GORUCK. GORUCK specializes in “rucking” gear – also known as a “ruck march”. What’s rucking? It’s simply walking for distance with a heavily loaded backpack (aka rucksack – hence the name.) Do you need GORUCK pants to go on a ruck march? No, you don’t. But GORUCK has created something super-functional and useful to make what are now my favorite pair of pants- For just about anything. So, ruck if you want to – but these pants can do so much more.
